Marlins Opening Night Presented by Carteret Vision Center

Morehead City, N.C. – The Marlins Baseball Team is very excited to begin their third season in Morehead City next week.            

The Marlins kick off their season on the road against the Wilmington Sharks on Tuesday, May 29th.  The Marlins return home the next day, Wednesday, May 30th for their opening game against the Edenton Steamers at Puck O’Neal Field Big Rock Stadium.  ‘Opening Night’ will be presented by Carteret Vision Center as the Marlins will embark upon their own ‘vision’ with new marketing and brand campaigns.            

The Marlins will be comprised of new players from all over the country, from Stanford University to East Carolina University.  Heading the team will be first year manager, Brian McRae, former Major League Baseball player and Team USA 18u hitting coach.    

This season will feature new promotions and new giveaways for fans to enjoy.  Also, fans will be able to enjoy different food and beverage items at the ball park, including an array of beer choices.                     

All home games will start at 7:05 pm Monday-Saturday, while Sunday games will begin at 6:05 pm.  Gates will open approximately one hour before the start of each game.  This year, the Marlins will play 30 home games which include two exhibition games against Team USA and The Military All-Stars.

The Morehead City Marlins are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats.
