Town Approves Marlins Long Term Lease

Morehead City, N.C. – The Morehead City Marlins now have a long-term home at Big Rock Stadium.  On Tuesday night, the Morehead City Town Council unanimously approved a contract with the Marlins for three years with a two-year renewal option.

Since 2010, the Marlins have been operating on a year-to-year contract.  The Town Council’s action will grant the Marlins the long-term agreement that the team has been in search of. The agreement also extends the Marlins license to sell beer at Big Rock Stadium.

The Council also approved a Letter of Intent from the Marlins. The Marlins will contribute towards the City’s planned capital improvements at the stadium.

“I want to thank the Town Council, Mr. Whitlow, and Mayor Jones for all of their hard work on this agreement,” said Marlins owner Buddy Bengel. “I also want to thank all of the fans, sponsors, and most importantly our host families for all of their continued support.”

Marlins sponsorship opportunities and ticket packages are now available.  The 2013 schedule is set to be released in the coming days.
